I wish I could just stop thinking about S03E13, because even what I thought were the good parts aren’t standing up to much scrutiny… The whole cutie mark swapping part was a half-baked idea that needed more time in the oven, especially since they only had half an episode to do it.

I agree
Oh. Well, she was still technically picking fruit and then she says “I don’t care much for picking fruit.”
No, in SSCS she just caught the apples.
Also, in MMC she offended the Apple Family when she might be related to them.
>no evidence she’s done anything about it in years
>raised on a rock farm
>Dad is a skinny fucker next to Big Mac
>raised on a rock farm
>Bruce Lee probably couldn’t kick an apple out of a tree that wasn’t about to fall anyways
Just to clarify, I’m not trying to be dismissive. It’s just that, while a valid observation, there are PLENTY of reasons why Pinkie might not have been able to buck apples out of trees. Hell, she can barely BUCK a tree in the first place without flailing like a parking lot tube dude.
Yeah, I’m also beginning to think Pinkie’s “power” is affected by her mood.
Like maybe Pinkie only uses her strength to LIFT and not KICK. Cuz she certainly has some powerful fore-legs to be hoisting up all the random crap she carries around. She carried that welcome wagon with no effort. The cannon too.
@Background Pony
oooh, yea like that.

definitely one of its shining moments of dumbness.

…actually, I have nothing to say here, apart from this:
People’s criticisms of the episode, for the most part, are reasonable enough from what I’ve seen. Them saying that it was rushed, enforced from the powers-that-be, or discombobulated made it a weak episode, I have no issue with. I personally thought it was an okay episode, and for what it was trying to do, it did reasonably well given the time restraints.
What I do take exception to is people proclaiming that this is the ruination of the series. Why? Because we’ve heard that every-fucking-time that a major change happens. First it was Faust leaving, then it was no E/I logo, then Williams becoming a writer, then the derpy fiasco, then the wedding episode, and then alicorn twilight…
I could push those rocks around with my big toe and certainly couldn’t buck a tree.
i remember, those times were called the 90s, but if the internet existed in full power back i bet there would have been fun-killer-overanalysing like now.
Me neither. ME. NEITHER!
People are actually nitpicking over this inconsequential thing.
whatever im sick of him doing nothing but bitching about the goddamn episode in every fucking sentence. you too are an annoying goddamin twat
you don’t know real shit and are just nitpickig, it’s pathetic
Go back to elementary school if you want to turn your brain off to its most basic level.
Smart people are capable and well within their right to critique SHIT. Magical Mystery Cure was fully loaded with that, so much so that you could tear every line apart of how little sense it made.
If you want to not hear bitching, go turn your brain off, and go to elementary school.
The adults are talking.
Critiquing is legit and is NEVER going away when shit appears.
just go to /mlp/ already if you wanna bitch nonstop
That’s how I feel about the whole episode. There were so many things in it that didn’t make sense, and rather than go back to the drawing board they just shoehorned it all into 20 minutes.
And I don’t buy the “it’s just a kids’ show” excuse, either. The reason this show got big with adults is because it was good enough to hold up to adult standards, and now the people who desperately defend it are saying that we should lower our standards to what Hasbro thinks the target audience’s should be.
