My guess is that whatever necromancy Discord had to perform to bring him back to life fucked up his mind. I also have the headcanon that Sombra was actually not really himself but a version Discord made up of him based on what he imagined a bad guy would be like

Before Season 9 lobotomized him into a reckless loudmouth, I always saw Sombra as the most-competent and most–no-nonsense.

Interesting list. Not sure that I would call the stoning part a good defeat though. It felt cheap to me and is no long-term solution either as one could see with Discord.
