I know how you feel about Rainbow Dash, although the problem is she has been into fights more than Winter Lotus have.

I cannot understand which episode you are referring to, The Ending of the End or The Last Problem, but it would be appreciated if you told us which one you’re referring to. However, in my opinion and case, the near-fight between Winter Lotus and Rainbow Dash (as shown in the image above) was the most disputed scenario of the episode, as most users here believe in.

It feels just sudden for me. I guess it would be better if we had more episodes with those three where they worked on this plan. Like I wrote, the idea was not bad, but I don’t really like how they realized it in the show. Sure, the word hate was a little bit to harsh. Ok, it is true that we don’t know how many time was between E23 and E24. Maybe I looking a little bit to hard on that.

Well, in Spice up your life, it was mostly the scene with Minuette. She is a friend of Pinkie and disclames her offer to visit the Tasty Treat. It does not fit to her in my opinion. That Ponies I like make bad decisions is something I am aware of.

Sudden? The villains, the three best manipulators in the series, spent weeks at least, maybe months, subtly pushing them to this point. What would be a “realistic” enough reason for your satisfaction?
 
If they had any characterization for this to contradict prior (Spice Up Your Life), I can see the complaint. Otherwise don’t think a character you like is immune to having bad days or making bad decisions, or having negative traits against your expectations.

The thing I hate mostly about that scene is that they turned (once again) one of my favorite ponies into a jerk without any realistic reason. The whole thing with “all pony races against the other races” was just bad written in my opinion. The main idea was not bad, but how they made it was really bad for me. To suddenly and to heavy. And they had a few episodes in the later seasons where BG-Ponies act not really well (Fame and Misfortune, Fake it ’til you make it and Spice up your life to name some). I still love Winter Lotus.
