I really don’t understand why people compare Sweetheart to Fluttershy. She isn’t shy at all, just really sweet.  
But I think Patch also has traits of Pinkie Pie. She’s not just a tomboy, but a class clown and a prankster.

That was true only to MLPT, in other pre-G4 incarnations the characterization was pretty flat. Yeah, technically G3 Dash was the “fashionista” type and Wind Whistler was the “smart one”. But it’s hard to compare saying “darling” constantly and wearing pretty clothes alone to G4 Rarity, and outside the Crunch the rockdog episode, WW’s personality boiled down to saying everything in big words that other ponies couldn’t understand, she was literally a walking gag. There’s more to characterization than “assigning personality type to a character”
