Gillian Berrow? One of the writers of the show? Apparently she stuck around and also worked on writing the movie. I guess it makes sense she will lend her voice for a minor character.
And I went to look at literally the first shot of the guards and the first of the movie we got in general. The blue one does have a bit of eyelashes if looked more closely. Safe to say we were wrong the entire time and this guard is really a mare. :P

I decided to see who voices that pony and took a look at the credits and if I’m correct then it was Gillian Berrow. The name next to her was “Zoom” which I’m pretty sure it’s the blue guard.
I know women VA can do guy voices but, I’m starting to think the blue guard is actually a mare. Though I was having a hard time trying to spot eyelashes that would make it obvious.
