Great View
After Sombra returned from the Crystal Empire early in the week, the rest of the week had turned into a mishmash of chaos. There was a celebration held in the Canterlot Town Square, lasting from the afternoon until past midnight. Diplomats from Saddle Arabia had come from over the desert to congratulate Sombra, as well as talk with the royal sisters. Then Luna had to help Celestia with the preperations for the Summer Sun celebration, which wasn’t even for another month. But on Friday evening, Sombra found Luna and the two snuck out of the palace together. They took to the air, Sombra summoning shadow bat wings, and flew as fast as they could into the hills at the foot of the mountain.“Phew!” Luna sighed as their hooves brushed the grass. “Glad to be out of that bees nest.” They laughed quietly, walking through the tall trees. Summer flowers were starting to bloom, their buds stretching upward towards the fading sunlight.“Do you come here often?” Sombra asked, looking around in awe at the trees swaying gently in the breeze.“Not lately,” Luna admitted. “But I’ve always managed to make time to walk these trails. Tia and I made them when we were fillies.”“Wow! They’re oooold!” he exclaimed, stretching the words. She whacked him on the shoulder.“Not as old as you! Aren’t you almost as old as Tia?”“Eheh… Yeah.” He looked down at her. Luna glanced up at him.“What are you staring at?” she asked.“You,” he answered. “You look dazzling with leaf-dappled light on you.” Luna ducked her head, blushing slightly.“Come see this.” Luna ran forward along the trail, bursting out of the trees onto the bottom of a grassy hill. A single tree stood at the top. “Tia and I call it the Hill.”“Creative,” Sombra commented. Luna gave him a pout face.“Hey, we were fillies!”“Uncreative fillies,” Sombra muttered, hiding his smile and looking off to the side as if distracted. Luna punched him. “OW!”“Race you to the top!” she challenged, taking off at a run. He leaped after her, his powerful legs propelling him up the slope. They sprinted up ti the tree and stopped.“Wow,” was all Sombra could say. The setting sun lit up the surrounding hills, spilling light through the evening mist. Color danced across the leaves as the warm wind blew them in gentle patterns. Luna smiled up at him.“Like it?” He nodded dumbly.“It’s incredible!” he murmured. They walked to the far edge of the hilltop, where the slope dropped down steeply. They sat and watched the scenery move around them. A flock of birds flew through the empty sky, heading west. The evening insects began buzzing in groups, the sun making them glow. In the river that ran through the trees, a beaver led her young to their dam.Suddenly, Sombra rocketed into Luna. “Get down!” They tumbled behind the tree.“What is it?” Luna asked, her voice edged with fear.“A couple of guards,” Sombra replied, crouching lower. A moment passed. “They’re gone.” …………………………………“Are you going to get off of me now?” Luna asked. Sombra grinned down at her.“Why would I do that?” he asked.“Um, because its awkward,” Luna suggested. Sombra cocked his head to one side.“Aw, are you uncomfortable?” he teased.“W-what?” she stammered. “Of course not!”“Yes, you are!” Sombra laughed.“Am not!”“Are, too!” he argued back, leaning down closer.“Am not!”“Are, too!” Sombra’s face was centimeters above hers.“Am, too!” Luna gasped, writhing beneath him.“Told ya,” Sombra laughed, his mane brushing her face. “Do you mind?” he asked.“Yes, I d~~” Luna was cut off as he pressed his muzzle to hers. He held the kiss for a moment, then lifted his head a bit. “Grr!” Luna growled.“You’re blushing,” Sombra informed her, keeping a straight face.“Am NOT!” Luna retorted, turning a deep red.“Too easy,” Sombra laughed.“Get. OFF!!” Luna surged upward, knocking him backwards. She shook her mane out, throwing bits of grass at Sombra.“Puppy Princess!” he laughed, trotting past her to the tree.“Jerk!” She dashed after him, landing a solid kick on his rear before beating him to he tree.“OUCH!” Sombra rubbed his hindquarters gingerly. “That’s cheating!”“Well, since you don’t listen to me, I figured you wouldn’t listen to any rules either,” Luna replied smoothly, examining her hoof.“Ha ha, very funny,” Sombra muttered. He gave her a wolfish grin. “No rules?” he asked. Luna looked at him.“What?” was all she could say before he pinned her arms and wings to her sides and leaned back against the tree.“No more escaping from me!” he announced, hugging his arms tighter around her.“You big, stinking~~” Luna sputtered.“Handsome, strong,” Sombra offered.“Stupid, lying”“Hot, smart,” he rattled off.“~~bag of Hydra dung!” she finished, still struggling. But it was hopelessly obvious. Sombra was too strong for her.“When I say no escaping, I mean it,” he said, grinning down at her.“Not for the Princess of Escaping!” Luna said, performing a particularly unsuccessful wriggle.“Wow,” Sombra said. Luna looked up at him.“What?”“You’re even pretty from up here,” he replied.“Shut up and let me go!” Luna growled, struggling more.“Don’t like the proximity?” he asked, leaning down and putting his muzzle on her shoulder. He held her shoulders still with his arm as she tried to literally shrug him off.“Uuugh!” she groaned in pretend exasperation.“Did I make the little princess mad?” he asked.“That ship sailed a LONG time ago!” she informed him. Sombra threw back his head and laughed.“Too bad! You’re adorable when you start getting mad.” He leaned down and kissed her neck.“Sombra!” she giggled, her cheeks flaring red. He held the kiss for a few moments longer.“Well, what am I supposed to do?” he asked. “I can’t reach your face.” He leaned down again. “Another?” he murmured.“Stoop,” she complained, squirming wildly.“Can’t get away,” he teased, his breath was warm on her neck as he held the kiss for a while. When he stopped, he didn’t bring his head up, just rested it on her neck. A moment passed before he realized she had stopped squirming. “Enjoying yourself?” he asked.“Well, I can’t exactly go anywhere,” she muttered. Sombra looked at her.“You stopped blushing!” he exclaimed.“Hmph. I can control when I blush,” she retorted. “Princess trick.”“Oh really?” Sombra asked, raising an eyebrow. She glanced up at him.“Oh, no. Don’t you da~~” Sombra cut her off by kissing her all over her neck. “Stop!” she giggled. “That’s tickles!”“I’m not stopping!” he replied, kissing her shoulders. He reached around under her chin and kissed the front of her neck.“AH! Stop!” Luna was blushing like crazy by then.Sombra kissed her one more time before stopping. “Made you bluuush!”“SOMBRA!!!!” He ran laughing as Luna chased him down the hill.
Wow. Another long one. Sorry☹️I’ve never done an atmospheric picture before, so please overlook the mistakes. I’ve also never done so much romance in one sitting. GAK!Well, all critique is welcome! 🙂*NEXT:PREVIOUS:
I know that, m8. I was actually having a giggle with you, Remains and Ponypon. Even though my version of Sombra is an asexual warlord because of the whole hatred incarante thing, I just consider Lunbra the worst of all the Sombra ships. But I do ship Sombra x Celestia x Luna and Sombra x Cadence.
Because is a more logic thing to do than to correlate Celestia with bananas.
And that’s the fun of it! many people do it already. Because yeah, you could. It’s all up to your interpretations. If you see Sombra more like Ares than Erebus, go ahead and ship the hell out of it.
But bashing on every ship you don’t like won’t make it any less appealing.
Just to let you know, there is a little thing called multiverse. You can like the show, use it’s content and alter it’s reality to suit your own views as you see fit.
Follow this idea and nobody gets arsed by x ship or the damn y shippers. :J
Now, word of god
clearly not IDWsaid once the show is all about Friendship is Magic, not Love is Magic. So far in FiM canon your mental version of Sombra hasn’t broken the rules, why bother then?
What? Why are you using ancient Greek mythology to justify a ship? By that logic I can justify Sombra x Cadence by saying that Ares and Aphrodite did the same.
Yes, he is hatred incarnate.
Lust, on the other side, is nothing a warlord can’t indulge in sometimes.
@Background Pony #47AD
Shipping Sombra with Luna is the very same as what the greeks did for Erebus and Nyx. Is a pairing as old as time.
Different Sombra, doesn’t count.
And it wasn’t ‘no reason’ per say.
Lunbra has no base at all. Back in 2012 it came out of fucking nowhere with no reason whatsoever. At least Celestibra had an origin, as bad as the origin was.
Only in magical crystal form.
He is hatred incarnate and a warlord. Love itself is lethal for him.
How so?
You high, brah? Sombra is literally the only pony that shipping for it makes no sense. It’s like having a F1 car as a daily driver.
Don’t personally care for it, but I love the mood/atmopsphere of this drawing.
