They don’t hate change they don’t perceive will do any real difference.
It’s not fake, watch the episode, and see for yourself. I noticed it the first time I watched it.
Y’know, back then I’m amazed fans didn’t freak out over Luna’s new hair introduced in “Luna Eclipsed.” (Given some fans tendency to hate “change” of any kind.)
Or it’s an animation error from using an old model instead drawing a new Luna. Works fer me too,
