Because they literally look like them. The females only had eyelashes to distinguish them.
It’s just that they look like average furries. At least the Diamond Dog city that was in an early comic had Diamond Dogs that look like the ones in the show.
Thought so. The thing is whether you like it or not, Diamond Dogs were NEVER revisited in the show outside of their debut episode. Leaving the job of expanding on this species on us and the comics. It would be nice if they all shared those clubbed tails as nice as they looked, but these designs do share a couple conventions like being anthro dogs and wearing collars.
It is. They follow none of the existing diamond dog design conventions. They don’t even have clubbed tails.
That’s not meant to diss these characters, right?
Pretty much, yeah. It’s amazing how much the comics have devolved.
