I remember watching a video footage from the 80s uploaded on YouTube, recorded with a videocamera in a movie teather, of the audience reacting to Darth Vader’s “No… I AM YOUR FATHER” scene!
If i find it again by any chance, if you didn’t see it, i’ll post the link
Imagine being able to watch ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ in Theaters! That experience alone would be worth it.
Dude, same and i was born in ’96!
I’d settle for the mid-90’s. I remember how it was like in 1995/1996. Most of the things I use today already existed back then, in one form or another. Good, proper libraries. Internet existed (it was slow, but it was there). All the good boomer shooters I still occassionally play existed (Doom, Quake, Duke 3D, Descent, etc.) and we were still in the golden era of 2D adventure games. You could even get a cell phone if you wanted. No fluff. And you controlled almost everything.
I actually once did some thinking and realized that the earliest point in time I could live in, if I could go back in time, would be somewhere in 1982-1983. I know bits and pieces of 6502 assembly, enough that I could make a living writing programs and games on C64, until IBM PCs come viable.
I’d miss G4 pony, though.
I don’t know why, but I’d love to spend a few weeks in those times to really take in what it was like back then. It’s funny, I have nostalgia for a time where I never existed, most because I watched shows from that time.
