Never mind that cartoon characters like these always wear the same clothes anyway.
Or that not having visible cutie marks occasionally wouldn’t matter; that happens when the ponies wear dresses, for instance.

Not every unicorn is able to do it. Some can do it, and I suppose Pumpkin can do it early. But again, done for comedy.
Pumpkin Cake could self-levitate despite being 1 month old, which can mean A) most unicorns should be able to self-levitate or B) Pumpkin is a prodigy who will surpass Twilight in magic power when she grows up.
So now we are stuck half way in the middle, and no-one is happy. What a surprise!

Humans with wings have been around forever.
Making them human would have been stupid and you probably would like it even less since it means they can’t do ANYTHING similar to their pony versions.
If they can’t get horns to look right then they should not use wings either. Making them anthro was a stupid idea in the first place, and just making them human would have been less controversial than only letting pegasi have wings and not letting unicorns have horns.
Because humans with horns coming out of their head look stupid. I’ve always hated horned humanizations, preferred ones with either elf ears or just hand magic.

Again, you are trying to justify the fact that this Equestria Girls is operating on the half-assed logic of “humanized pegasi should have wings, but humanized unicorns shouldn’t have horns.” I don’t see why you feel obligated to defend something so stupid.

That’s just my preference.
I think it’s best to have the face of the left with everything else of the right.
But then that completely takes away another complaint people have, that these characters aren’t the same without wings and magic. Which the other side fixes.
There’s precedence for human-like beings with wings. There isn’t precedence for human-like beings with horns.
Unicorn horns aren’t the only way to cast magic. In fact, ESP or wands or just using your hands is much more common.
But to fly? You need wings.
I don’t think it’s alicorn butthurt, it’s just a no-anthro version.

And what about casting magic without a horn?
Having wings be required for flight but having no horns required for magic is just plain idiotic. Either get rid of all the fantastical anatomy like wings, horns, pony ears and tails, or have both wings and horns. It’s not that hard to understand (unless you are desperately trying to defend this crap).
