The comics have already tried to delve a little deeper into that relationship, how they met to be exactly.

I’ve brought this up before in other threads but whenever I see Shining Armor and Cadence Cadence together, I always see them as Sterling Archer and Llana Cane (is it spelt with 1 or 2 L’s? I can’t remember.)

Well, she does seem to fit the archetype. To be fair I don’t hate her character, I just feel that both herself and Shining Armor were somewhat under-utilized due to lazy writing tropes. Like how they always seem to get taken hostage just for someone else to come in and save the day? Again a pair of characters with potential who never got the chance, due to a group of writers who wanted to move on to another project as soon as possible.
 
So no, I myself don’t see her as such, but that was the impression made by the writers (in my opinion of course).
