Not only is the name shit, so is the entire bandwagon for the character. Out of nowhere, over a year after Lesson Zero happens, well after people noticed, and unlike Derpy, where the cross-eyed thing can be cute, this is just bad.
 
The fact that people will stand up for this and accept it after all the handwringing about alicorn OCs is pathetic.

Yeah that was a funny story with Derpy’s name. The thing is, people loved making stories where she was clever, or had a different name, not just Ditzy Doo but all sort of different ones too. And the thing is, in that mood if the show staff made alterations, we likely would have ACCEPTED. ‘Derpy Hooves’ the name as well as her doofus personality only became undebatable canon when they, with the best of intents, put her in the show. But if the show name was decided to be, idk, Flightly McFlysome, 90% of people would have accepted it as canon back then. And of course, after Derpygate any different naming/portrayal kinda died because it’d have felt like ou were one of ‘them’. The people who complained about her appearance. No-one wanted to be one of ‘them’.
 
And so the fact that it WAS probably a silly name to like to begin with came to be promptly forgotten. :p

I liked the name Pluto. You know, because people argued whether or not she was canon.

This looks like Marcus Maximus, the fluffy pony artist, did this. And Erroria is cute, but I don’t know; Alula also worked for me.
