Oh, another case of that misconception that the mayan calender did go from it’s inception, and ended for the first time in 2012. But actually, it was the 13th time it ended.
 
The mayan calendar starterted 6th September 3115 BC,  
and ended the first time 6th December 2721 BC … long before 2012 AD.
