- “Yyyyyyyeeeeaaaahhh!!!”
Cinder was a little spitfire the moment she emerged from her egg, and she hasn’t changed since. The teenage heiress to the Dragon Lands, Princess Cinder is a confident and headstrong dragoness. Quite similar in personality to her mother Ember, this gal is very eager to grow up, and can be very impatient with that at times. She begged her parents to try diamonds far before she was out of her baby teeth; she pestered her Aunt Twilight to magically cause the molting process years before she was ready for wings; and the moment she (naturally) got her wings, she was climbing the first tree she could find so she could test them out (luckily Spike was present to prevent any major injuries). While Cinder is very proud of her heritage as a dragon, she’s also proud of the way her mother and father work to strengthen and maintain bonds with other kingdoms. Both of her parents taught her from a very young age the value of friendship and alliances built on comradery, and with half of her family being ponies, Cinder is determined to keep those bonds just as strong when she steps into a leadership role.
2-3. However, Cinder isn’t ready to be a princess quite yet. While she does like having a say in the few things her mother allows, she does enjoy not having all the responsibilities of a Dragon Lord yet. She enjoys learning all the ins and outs of being a leader with her cousins, Dawn Star and Flurry Heart, but she also likes to drag them along on her adventures as well. Cinder is very loyal and protective of those she calls her friends. She loves meeting up with Gavin either in Griffinstone or Ponyville, and sampling the newest gem-cakes at Sugarcube Corner with the P’s. The princess is also quite close with her mother’s Royal Adviser and ambassador of her court, Smolder. Smolder has looked after Cinder since she hatched, and while she does strive to be a protector and adviser to the princess, she’s also stepped into that big-sister role and looked the other way when Cinder begs to attend that lava party she’d been talking about all week. She often accompanies Cinder and Ember on their ventures back and forth to Ponyville to see Spike and family.
Although her parents don’t live together, they stand as a shining example of the power of a relationship. Cinder also quite enjoys being able to go between the different lands as often as she wants, seeing all kinds of different things and meeting all kinds of different creatures. While Spike and his daughter may seem like they are quite different, they find many things to still bond over. While she finds cooking and baking boring, and usually turns down her father’s offers to help, she still loves to sample all the different meals he thinks up. She loves listening to his many stories as he works in the kitchen, and while he’s done many heroic things in his life, Cinder understands why Spike prefers to stay with Twilight as her adviser. Even though they could pay nearly anycreature to do so, Spike still likes to keep their home tidy and his family fed. The two absolutely love comics, and love to talk about their thoughts on certain storylines or alternate universes (they, Prism, and Tom do indeed have a rare comic-trading agreement). While her dad can be a bit dorky at times, Cinder is very proud of him and wants to, one day, continue to make the impact her parents have.
That said, she is cute.
