As lame as that plot point sounds, I wish it were true. At least then it wouldn’t be crapping all over G4’s ending and everything the Mane 6 ever worked towards.

I agree with you. Friendship Is Magic is truly a TV show in G4. Which means that Friendship Is Magic is truly TV show that’s part of G4. But we don’t know if G5 would be set in the G4 Continuity or not and be like Beast Wars.

But, why would it be though?  
It seems that each specie is with their own.  
So why would ponies make a show like this?

Poor bastards, having to live in a reality where FiM is just a T.V. show, and its message of tolerance and acceptance ends the moment the show does, leaving them in a bleak hellscape of political partisanship and selective truth.
