They claim to have paid out $40,000. His response makes sense, why didn’t he get a cent of that?
I remember that thread on 4chan. They couldn’t rule out gross incompetence on the organizers’ part, which is looking more and more like that’s the case.

Haven’t you heard? Unicon went bust because the organizers ran off with the money instead of using it to pay for the entire thing. /mlp/ uncovered the whole thing

They didn’t give the service they were supposed to. Overspending is their fault, and now they are blaming the VA’s agents for that. Complain? They should be sued.
Don’t complain about not getting paid when everyone’s well aware that they’re broke.
They’re working on reimbursing as much as they can and I’m sure they will once they have the numbers on what to actually reimburse.
I won’t ever blame Unicon for everything. They tried the best they could to do a great con, but the money just wasn’t there for them. I just hope they get a little better at PR.
