Notes about the designs/characters:
 
-Lightning Bolt’s very first design had him with the exact same cost color as Rainbow Dash, but I was quick to realize that I should probably lighten it a little.
 
-Firework’s design was inspired by kilalaaa’s Prism Bolt, But looking back it looks like a cheap ripoff.
 
-Lightning and Firework were originally twins. Both were brash and outgoing like their mother, with Lightning being only slightly more levelheaded.
 
-Firework is 21 only because I wanted to make it “legal” for him to drink. Otherwise, I would have put him at 18-20 years old.
 
-I considered shipping Firework with Galaxy Guard in a Rumble/Scootaloo-type relationship, and I also had possible plans to ship him with a daughter of Lightning Dust. Meanwhile, Lightning was always shipped with Confetti because I liked their “opposites attract” potential.
 
-Even after Lightning evolved into a more “mature and responsible” type, Firework was still your cliche SoarinDash kid. That changed once I took his love of sex and alcohol and ran with it.
 
-Lightning was a pretty flat character, as the stereotypical “responsible one”, until I came up with the idea for his fling with Primrose later on. This backstory helped to mold his character better.
 
-Adding tragedy and dysfunction to their family dynamic did wonders for both of their character developments.
