The only people who should be receiving any donation money are the guests. They’ve had to pay for their own hotel rooms now and probably their plane tickets.

This community has shown itself time and time again to be bad at managing money. I’d like someone to prove me wrong, but I think many of these organizers have eyes bigger than the fandom’s stomach.
 
Even being at one of the oldest and most run down casino, one I can’t believe wasn’t imploded years ago, they still weren’t able to cover costs.
 
Maybe then, they shouldn’t have held it on the Strip.
 
My main problem is them asking for money over this. I’m sorry, but if you mismanage your funds and expect me to bail you out so you can make a profit, you’re out of luck. Best case scenario, the con gets better management next time.

No, and we should not limit ourselves to only one or two a year. The United States is an enormous country and there is no reason to restrict ourselves thus and force people to travel thousands of miles when we have so many active local communities that an organize events.
