Darn it, neither FiM nor Unreal are available for me D: Btw has the “final verdict” about the game been decided yet?

You were right until you said it was the devs who screwed up. This game was put into the EVO drive without their knowledge or consent; when they found out about it, it was past the point they could do anything bedsides go along for the ride.

I think you’re basically right, but it’s very unlikely Hasbro’s lawyers misunderstood what was going on. That it was for charity makes little to no difference; the game was being used with wide-scale advertisement to make money. If the Juvenile Leukemia Foundation wants to use the CMCs as mascots, do you think they can just do that without asking Hasbro? Or paying royalties? Hasbro may cut a charity they like a sweet deal on licensing, but they can’t and won’t let it go for free, and they can’t and won’t let it go without a written contract.

The game’s developers screwed up, and forced Hasbro to shut them down. They had good intentions, but the road to Hell is paved with good intentions. And probably crystals.

They were perfectly fine with the project so long as the makers weren’t going to make a profit. Then the drive to EVO2k13 showed up and Hasbro more then likely misunderstood the point of it. That is when they sicced their lawyers on the team.
