You perfectly summed up why I don't like Discord's character post Season 3. It was the writers' fault for making everypony that's not Fluttershy like that. If they wanted the ponies to convey love and tolerance, then why was Discord the exception?

That could be also why. I a'm not a Star Trek fan but I would not be surprised if this were the writers' mindsets. He may be based on Q and has his voice actor but trying to make Discord a complete carbon copy of Q did not go as planned.

That could be also why. I
