Lyra looked at the picture. The last picture they took together. Bonbon’s huge opportunity had come, but to capitalize on it, she had to move. She thought Lyra was fine with it. That couldn’t be farther from the truth. She didn’t want her best friend to leave. She wanted Bonbon back. “That’s just… how it is.” She placed the photo back where it was for the past week. As she went to cry in her room, there was a knock at the door. “What now?” She trotted to the door. “Yeah, what is- Wha?” The pony at the door was trembling. “I-I couldn’t… I…” “Bonbon? What are you doing here?” Bonbon ran forward, right into Lyra’s forelegs. “I couldn’t be so far away from you!” “Bonbon.” “I hoped our last day together would never end!” Lyra placed a hoof on her friend’s head. “Don’t cry. It doesn’t have to.” Her smile was so wide. “It won’t end, because it will never come.”
