2 more things to add to this:

Fluttershy always seemed more comfortable on the ground despite being able to fly.
This one is almost certainly coincidence, but she’s getting into a balloon while she has 3 balloons for a cutie mark.

The animators probably did that because silver contrasted batter with Fluttershy’s yellow coat. It does confirm the canon existence of silver colored coins though…not just gold.

Also; why does FS need a balloon ride back to Cloudsdale? With Rarity screwing up the weather that seems much more dangerous than just flying with her own wings.
