This is probably my only major criticism of the show: restrictions imposed by the medium. With videogames and movies, you can make the narrative as long or short as you want; there’s no time restraint.
 
With TV on the other hand, you have a set amount of time to tell a particular story…which can be of detriment to said story. Either it’s rushing through it’s plot points in order to fit into the time restraint (arguably like MMC and Crystal Empire), or it’s resorting to lazy padding in order to lengthen a short story to meet said time restraint (a la Last Roundup).
 
I too agree that there is more than enough story here for even a two parter, though going by what McCarthy said on twitter, it’s the first part in a three part ark…possibly.

If you sync the finale with side B of Wish You Were Here, the sung part of Shine On You Crazy Diamond is during that part.

Dude, for me Celestia’s Ballad is like Bioshock’s good ending mixed with the “Jurassic Bark” and “Luck of the Fryrish” episodes of Futurama, sprinkled over top of Harry and Dumbledore’s chat in the afterlife, with a hearty side of the Iron Giant, and a 2-liter of diet tears to drink. I still can’t even think about that scene without getting all feely.

Even then, I enjoyed it for what it was and am excited to see what they can do with her in S4.

The first part of the episode felt really rushed, albiet with some really good songs. second part made up for it oh so hard.

Yeah, I didn’t feel anything when my grandfather died either.

The Bioshock good ending was really cheesy and didn’t fit the rest of the game at all. That said, that scene in the season finale gave me plenty of feels.
