Yeah, I was surprised myself. I try to only write what I need, without wasting anything, but, well, when you’re trying to write complicated mysteries… shrug

The other Danganronpa story that I’m currently following on Fimfiction had a wordcount of just over 38,000 by the time chapter 1 finished.

I’m hoping by this weekend, actually. :) I’ve just finished with my rough draft of the trial, and just need to get on with the post-trial, execution, then epilogue for the chapter. Honestly the art I still need to make might almost take me more time than editing stuff together, because I’ve been making sure to edit as I go to help keep things consistent. There should be about eight parts to chapter one, plus the prologue of course, so that’ll give me a month to get chapter two together, which I fully expect to do sooner seeing as I wrote all of what I have in literally less than two weeks. Even longer if I decide to break the prologue into two parts, since it’s pretty dang long otherwise. So unless something really surprising happens, I’ll be able to keep up with my posting schedule. (Working from home makes this way easier than it would be otherwise.)
 
Aaand, just to give you a bit more to look forward to: right now(and this is without being finished with Chapter One) my current word count for the story so far is just over 58,000. So there will be lots to read. :)
 
One final thing I can say because it’s not really a spoiler: Danganronpa is a canon video game series in the story, one that Sunset has played before. This is a deliberate choice, not just a joke, and ties directly into the overall plot in a very important way. ||Note that when I say canon, I don’t mean V3 style. I mean same as real life, just the three video games, etc.||Just thought I’d give you that extra taste. :)

…okay I know this may come across as me being impatient (and… okay I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t at least a little bit), but I’m more just curious:  
When do you think the story’ll be ready for upload?

Heh, it is pretty amusing to imagine Twilight being like Kokichi. As for any similarities, well, you’ll just have to read the fic once it starts posting.

It’s always possible. I can say this: I already know who will die and who will be the survivors. It’s all planned out.

As much as I like the cast of EQG, there are only two characters that I REALLY hope make it through.  
The rest, while I’ll definitely be sad, won’t affect me the same way.
 
…but I get the feeling that Dash and Scootaloo (or at least one of them) is going to die anyway

I’m not claiming you’re going to do anything intentional yet, but it’s interesting that this one is the only one that lines up with an existing pre-trial class portrait.
 

 
I dunno if it’s an intentional choice or not, but it is incredibly amusing to imagine Twilight being a little shit to make things interesting.
 
And also Sunset dying to make Fluttershy the new protagonist.

I’m already both dreading AND looking forward to this.
