I’ll give you that. Couldn’t stand him. And honestly, I think around season 7 or 8 is when I kinda started to dislike Maud. But Mudbriar is an annoying character. Him constantly saying actually is what did it.

Nah, that’s Mudbriar. A complete copy and paste of a character solely to ship them with their clone. And it make it worse, they flanderized Maud’s character into an annoying asshole who cant ever shut his mouth and needs the last word on everything.

Though given that her presence, as you said, made Diamond Tiara a sympathetic character, it’s hard to really hate her…at least in a meta sense. In fact, I barely ever actually hate characters who are intentionally hatable, simply because that just means they’re effective in telling the story that they’re supposed to tell.
 
Unintentionally annoying characters though, they’re much easier to genuinely despise.
