Description
This is my first time drawing Melyssa of my own accord just cus I want to and not from a commission! At least since the first time I drew her. Since then it’s just been commissions of this lamia I drew in one pic! XD
To mark the occasion, this is also the first time we’ve seen her speak.

Oh and I added a necklace as you can see. I’d been wanting something to fill out the gap around her collar/breast area and didn’t really want to extend her underbelly up that far so a collar fit perfectly.
Also hey, I can upload this here to Derpuibooru with the tag of Lamia without all the drama because she LITERALLY IS A LAMIA
Unlike the Nagapon and Naga Ponies I draw otherwise.
I know a lot of people use the terms interchangably, but there is a staunch difference to me.

Oh no I am just as specific about that XD
it’s just that hypnosis is an umbrella term relating to techniques, powers or magic ect involving things which may include mind control.
But to me mind control specifically revolves around the controlling aspect. just as ‘brainwashing’ relates more towards alterations to a person’s memory or personality. both are expressions of hypnosis, though not the only ways.
I have had conversations with mods about it but they don’t want to change the way it’s define on the site haha (of course, but at least was worth a try to voice my opinion). Just as I’ve talked to them about the distinction between naga, lamia and ‘nagapon’ lol
It’s just really hard for me to change how I understand something that I’ve grown up with developing a very specific set of understandings around. You say ‘lamia’ and I’ll always think of creatures like the lovely lady up in the image there, and I don’t think that’ll ever change. it’s the way it makes sense to me.
It’s fine if people have different opinions of course, but I just get tired of either complete indifference between the words or people telling me I’m wrong for my opinion.
Hmm I mean, I’d still be careful X3
