My cat does that, or tries to meow loudly when he wants to enter the house.
Our indoor cat does this to closed doors as well.
My fuzzies are indoor fuzzies. But they also do this when doors are closed. Or when Trolling Pigeons land by the window just to mock the cats
They just sit there and stare at me when they want in.

As an aside: Man I wished my apartment could look that clean.
Stuck with nasty rotting linoleum, and old cat-poo colored carpet. My place never looks clean even after we scrub it. >:I
