So instead of releasing the monster in the middle of Manehattan or Canterlot or literally any other town, you let in run free in the Everfree Forest. Aka the place that’s already crawling with monsters. How is that going to make them doubt their security? Ponyville is close to the forest and the inhabitants of the town are aware of the fact that there are dangerous monster inside. So for them that’s just another Monday. Besides the Monster didn’t even make it to town and attacked Zecora inside that forest.
