That's the thing, though: if you're so open-minded that you just give equal credence to_*every_* idea, no matter how bad and no matter how discredited it has clearly already proven to be time and again, just because of some rigid, unthinking adherence to a blind principle of, "welp, better just give EVERYTHING equal time and equal platforming," then _*you're not doing any critical thinking._

Not all ideas are of equal value. Not everything anyone wants to say should be given the full weight of forcing it to be platformed anywhere and everywhere. Legitimate astronomy and astrophysics college courses don't give "equal time" or "equal weight" to flat earth nonsense out of some misguided sense that "someone believes it, so I guess we all have to listen and respect it, no matter how obviously wrong it is."
I am not saying by any means that we should be *blindly* conceding content control to authority. I'm saying that maybe we should think about what content is actually worthwhile. We should maybe know better than to just accept certain absolutely awful things, and we maybe should - thoughtfully - give authority some permission to deal with some of those awful, disruptive, valueless things so that we don't have to just live with them crapping up our house forever.
