“Ugh…Ya did that on purpose didn’t ya?”

After her defeat in the highlands, Arizona had been debating how to continue her quest. Deciding to return to Reine, the cow was ambushed in the forest on the city’s outskirts. Reine’s champion. That snooty reindeer, what was her name again? It didn’t matter. The doe was charging straight at her, eyes glistening like mischievous diamonds. A thick layer of frost sparkled on the doe’s coat, while her quick prancing gait made her look like a dancing Christmas ornament. A living snow angel in her mind.

A prissy brat in Arizona’s. “Outta my way! Unless you’re looking to get yer fuzzy back end handed to ya again!”

At the sound of the Cow’s taunt, the Reindeer lowered her head as if to use her antlers before rearing back. The frost on her chest flying off, turning the ground underneath Arizona’s hooves into an icy slip and slide. As Arizona closed her eyes and gritted her teeth as she prepared to have a face-to-face with the pavement, something broke her fall. ‘Huh, didn’t know snow could feel so velvety’

Velvet. That’s what the reindeer was named. Opening her eyes Arizona realized that said reindeer had broken her fall.

“Vhat have we here?” The doe asked mockingly, shooting the cow a sly look over her shoulder. “Can’t get enough of zhe floof?”

“Ugh. Yer full of it!” Arizona bit back at the doe.

“Zhat blush says otherwise.” Velvet observed coyly.

Arizona eyes widened. “Sh…Shudup!” She yelped in embarrassment trying desperately to save face.

“Vell lucky for you, I didn’t come out here to fight.” Velvet continued, disregarding her passengers’ distress. “It’s getting late, and zhere’s no way zhe guards will let you in!”

“Ya sure about that?” Arizona pried. It hadn’t taken much to get into Reine last time.

“But of course! Anyone vill do anything for a bit of salt!”

Wait a minute is she admitting to bribing the guards to keep her out. Arizona wondered.

“I didn’t come out here just to tell you zhis either.” Velvet said, her tone finally matching the look in her eyes. “ even if you got into the city, vhere would you stay? Room and board costs a trite too much for you no?”

That gave Arizona pause, and as much as he bovine hated to admit the reindeer was right.

“Vell tonight’s your lucky night, as I just so happen to have a bed big enough for two!” The doe said, turning her head so that Arizona wouldn’t be able to see the blush now forming on her face.

The cow herself was taken aback. “Uhh, thank ya! that’s rather nice of ya Velvet.”

“Oh, it is no trouble at all.” The reindeer cooed, before adding seductively. “I zhink you will find that my floof makes for a divine pillow!”

Arizona’s face was now as red as her scarf, as Velvet covered the path in ice, begin skating with her catch in tow, blushing all the way.

As those hope the ice is to be at least three feet thick to support the weight of a cow and reindeer combined when Arizona cow and velvet reindeer hope they aren’t on the ice when they hear crackling noises and might witness the ice splintering under their weight when those hope they don’t go through the ice.
