Sci-Twi didn’t mean to hurt her. I know she was Reckless, but she could’t control the device because of the magic. in fact, I don’t even know how the device is able to drain magic, because technology and magic does not mix.

And yet she still didn’t drop Spike. Shows how much she cares about animals!
And after she caught Spike from the fall, Twilight gets even closer to her and probably making the draining effect even stronger and therefore worse for Fluttershy.
