I get that, but if people actually thought that we’d ever see anything like that in a kid’s My Little Pony cartoon, then I think they read WAY too much fanfiction and were seriously deluding themselves. They’d have to know that’s not something that the writers would actually intend or ever do with the show.

The “Pegasii are orphans” thing came from never seeing any Pegasus with parents, plus their ancient civilization seemed Greek and certain Greek civilizations raised their children communally with no knowledge of their parents, plus the only young memories we saw of Dash and Fluttershy were them going to camps and being raised in a group rather than being with their families.
