Funny thing is, is that I came from Skype where I was an avid user; I’d often talk to my friends in the states via voice or camera for several hours at a a time and my first FiMFic pledge hosted people in Skype in a giant group.
 
When Discord was breaking ground and people were carrying on about it was about the same time Skype was rolling out updates that seemed to crash the application a lot. I don’t know if that was something on my end or not.
 
Skype was simple in its functionality where you had one group and a friends list instead of a fuckton of individual channels in one group that get lost in translation like walking through a fucking maze made by M.C. Esther while trying to manage notifications coming at you like shrapnel from an IED.
 
Over time Discord became the application that set itself apart from Skype enough that people who used it could argue they weren’t a pleb.

Whatever. I don’t use either of them.

My school used Skype and I failed school just because of that. Because most of time I couldn’t connect.

I mean both are kind of shit in their own way but everyone is on Discord and it’s at least not as bad as Skype so eh.
