As much as I wanna stay out of this. There is a difference between just giving "criticism," and "bashing."
Even MeanLucario himself said he doesn't care for PL, and he's tired of the bashing.
So honestly, neither side of the argument is "pure."

In fairness, the respect should go both ways, (I'm afraid to say anything about PL here positive, or negative, in fear of people jumping me) if bronies back in 2011 had that attitude of judging something before seeing it, then there'd be no brony fanbase now. (Some felt "all new cartoons suck" back then too, I recall.)
Many thought the Sonic the Hedgehog movie was guaranteed to be bad, and now it's a huge hit. So it's understandable why some prefer to reserve their judgement, or not "judge a book by it's cover."
