Description

So this was something I’ve been working on for about 14 hours, which is embarrassing considering how bad the photos make it look. The model itself is only about 1 and a third inches tall, so the scale of the photo is hilariously inflated and you can’t see the majority of the painfully obvious blemishes on the actual model without a magnifying glass.

This was the result of losing a bet with a brony friend, who then decided he wanted me to make my next Peace Crusader model resemble something from MLP. I had a pretty good head that I was waiting to use for a while, and which was rather suitable so I went ahead and did a Twilight Sparkle Librarian. Ironically it looks like something that would have fitted in my brightly coloured force anyhow so it all worked out pretty well in the end.

As for details, the head is the main thing to note here. I tried my best to show in the pictures, but the hair is a reasonably good match to the character it was based on, and the little Tiara of Psychic annihilation (I think it was a Space Wolf head to begin with) isn’t too disimilar to her Element of Magic so I went ahead and tried to make that match as well. The tabard is painted in her colour, and I also went ahead and threw in a decapitated Chrysalis head because why not (Emperor bless ye Grey Knight bits).

I really tried hard to thin my paints out again, going with multiple watered down layers but I’m pretty sure that failed miserably. So yeah, that’s pretty much all I have to say about it really.

Yeah, I can see some artifacting going on here.

The job on the face was wonderful, and it’s clear you have shading down. It does seems like you need to thin your paints down; light colors are bad about that, though I think your camera is making mountains out of molehills (the left leg’s pink section looks like old CGI, that’s the camera, not the paintjob). Fiddling with your brightness settings can help.

All in all, I’d fight him on the table.
