Cause fans in ANY fandom are sadly prone to group think and over-reaction. The wailing about “Drrr Halo no have boss fight!” after Halo 2 wasn’t quite Alicorn level, but it was at least derpy-gate scale, and like that problem the powers that be fixed it… by just never bringing it up again.

Hey, one reason why there wasn’t a boss battle in this game or most of the other halo games is because fans bitched about the boss battle in Halo 2. After that mess they try to avoid it.

There really isn’t much you can do with a boss battle in an FPS, even without taking the Didact’s powers into consideration. It was either this or a “destroy objectives to make weaker” kind of thing or a bulletsponging pain in the ass.
 
I don’t really care for the fight, but I don’t really see how it could have been better.
