Older dyx is pretty much the type of Mum I want to be one day kind, and caring but will swear not punish their kid for defending themselves and takes a chill perspective on life because I’m not passing on the anxiety and stress over BS my Mum gave me and her Mum gave her.

I like the idea that, once Dyx grew out of being the hellspawn that she was as a filly, she became a fairly caring, grounded and well-rounded mother, who’s still a bit rough around the edges and takes no shit.
 
EDIT (like, nine-ish months later): Also, Dyxzala didn’t start the fight by throwing the first punch (or however ponies fight), the other jackass started it by talking shit and rightfully got their ass beat.
