As the guy who has to render that hair, I agree 100%.


 
In a volumetric sense, Pinkie's bubbly hair "curls" don't make spatial sense, and it takes a lot of wefforkt to wrangle together something that works. It looks fine as a flat cartoon with little to no shading, but when giving it texture, ambient light, drop shadows, shine/highlights, and density...oh jeez no.
