THIS, so fucking much. I swear everyone just goes to the two extremes: either “THE APOCALYPSE IS UPON US!” or “BULLSHIT! YOU ARE ALL OVERREACTING, IT’S JUST A FANCIER VERSION OF THE FLU!”.
 
The right position, that being “Coronavirus it’s a serious issue, but it’s not the end of the world. Let’s just stay in our houses, wash our hands, and by August or September this will be over” seems shared by few.

I know this is probably in bad taste and I apologise, but you know somebody out there is probably making a mint from the stocks that own brands like Charmin, Brawny, Kleenex ect.

If it is impossible to get from stores then some might turn to looting houses. So people feel the need to get guns to defend themselves if this was to happen.

Lucky for you then, the sale of guns and ammunition went up, too. Many stores had their ammo inventory cleared out.

I’m just comfortably waiting for civilization to collapse! Followed by death and destruction!

As the few wonder if those are low risk of catching coronavirus when they don’t take chances when after those clean out a store of its essential supplies when the few wonder if limits on stock could lead to fist fights when one wonders if hoarding the essential suppliescould wonder if its worth their life to hoard the supplies.

that’s pretty much why panic buying is so wrong there are people who actually need that stuff and they might not be able to get it because of this.

Some stores really should put up limits, but they might be afraid that might start riots/lootings, protests, or something… So sadly, it might not just be about money.

Tissues too, to my dismay. I’m sick with one of the nastiest head colds I’ve ever had – shitty immune system, diabetic for over 30 years, asthmatic, so yeah, I’m a little on edge about fitting into the ‘very susceptible to coronavirus’ category – and I can’t even blow my nose into a normal tissue because some think they’re ‘preppers’ all of a sudden, by buying up ALL the damn TP & tissues. >:[
 
No, I know that they’re just scared, and panicking, and not thinking straight at all. I blame the grocery stores just as much for not imposing limits on such items. They could’ve prevented this, but no, money is more important. Great example for the kids, ain’t it?
 
To think this is just the “opening volley,” as well.

Yes, and medical personnel, but for the same reasons: to not spread it around. Plus they need to be fitted properly. People were buying them up as if they’d somehow magically stop airborne viruses, or they’d have nothing to worry about. Then again, with the prevalence of liars, hucksters, & charlatans, and the herds of morons handing their money/votes to them these days, it shouldn’t have come as such a surprise. Live and learn.

That is true. Though there have been reports of healthy people in their 30s, 20s, and even teenage years requiring extended ICU care. Most notably in Italy.

one thing worth mentioning in terms of deadliest we have pretty much been through this before I might be wrong but I think most of the people have died already had a weak immune system either because they were already sick or the elderly

They had the same signs for bottled water at Albertsons.

I was in a Poundland today and they had multiple signs telling people only 3 per person

I’d chuckle at this if every store I went to today wasn’t out of T.P.
 
Seriously, T.P. is now a precious commodity. People are buying enough to build a T.P. fort.
