Well, it’s about your weight and suface area. Small animals can survive falls from incredible heights because they’re small and therefore pretty light. Some animals like Flying Squirrels even evolved to take advantage of this by growing flaps of skin between their front and back legs to increase their surface area and allow them to glide.

Conversely, larger animals don’t need to fall all that far to be injured. This is why Elephants completely lack the ability to jump; it’d present no advantage and could even be risky, depending on when they did so.

However, fiction doesn’t need to adhere to reality’s rules, so… *shrugs*

I admit I like those shows. It’s interesting to see more “mature” anthro’ shows. Especially, given the childish stigma those kinda characters usually have.

You’re assuming that Equestria has the same or similar gravitational force to Earth, and/or that anthropomorphic ungulates would have similar survival chances to a human.
I call bullcrap on that desk poster. You can’t fall any faster than terminal velocity, which limits the amount of damage you can sustain from a fall. Worst case scenario, you live and are in mortal agony at all the bones you’ve broken. You will not liquify. That would spare you the pain and suffering of continued existence.
