No. Poison with hurt or kill you if you ingest it. Venom will only hurt or kill you if it gets into your bloodstream. If you drink venom, your filtration organs (kidneys, liver and spleen) will get rid of it before it can do any harm (unless you have like, open mouth sores or a stomach ulcer or something).

Probably not. Venomous snakes (and most likely venomous lamias by extension) store the venom in their hollow, needle-like fangs, but venom does damage when it gets into the bloodstream, which it wouldn’t be able to do from the mouth, so there’s nothing I know of that would suggest that they’d be immune or even resistant to the venom if bitten by another snake/lamia with the the same kind of venom.

It’d probably take a lot to get Kalianne to bite someone though. Like if they were a genuine threat to someone she cared about (like her mother or GMHAA) and she couldn’t simply wrap around them to restrain them. But the only one I could think of like that would be Mean Kali, who would almost definitely bite Kali before Kali would bite her.

I’d hate for someone to provoke a venomous lamia like Kalianne into biting them. It would be annoying for Kalianne and tough to resist the urge.

Her poison isn’t strong at all, as she is venomous, not poisonous. Her venom, however, would presumably be at least comparably deadly to the venom of a real life Malaysian Coral Snake (the snake her design is based on), or if not, hers may be even more potent.
However, as Badum just said, Lamia Ponies are taught a high degree of self control early on so that they don’t use their venom, strength and/or hypnotism to hurt or kill someone, and Kalianne is a pacifist, even by Lamia standards.

They build wider structures that have very few separated rooms and very little furniture, since they tend to just lay in heaps to relax or sleep instead of needing couches or beds. It’s part of why they’re so touchy-feely and have no qualms about wrapping around or cuddling with each other, even perfect strangers :D

Yep, she’s a coral snake with neurotoxic venom. She’s a pacifist even by lamia standards, though. It’s part of the joke with Twilight Sparkle being so terrified of her. On one hand Kalianne IS physically powerful, able to easily subdue a pony, and has deadly venom, but on the other hand is so gentle and kind friendly that there is zero risk of her harming you. Of course, the irony that Twilight is ALSO crazy powerful creature with deadly magic is completely lost on her. After all one is only TRULY a pacifist if they are capable of great violence and causing harm but have the discipline and the wherewithall to not use it :D

It’s a big part of their culture to be pacifistic. They’re taught from birth to value and prioritize self control and being empathic of one another. Ones who lash out or use their venom or muscles or hypnotism to threaten or intimidate or who easily lose their temper are looked down on as weak and pathetic cowards who have to hide behind such things to survive :P

That is their weirdest quirk as a species. They are only unusually jealous of other lamias where non-lamia friends and partners are concerned. She wouldn’t think twice about a non-lamia friend of GMHAA, and she wouldn’t think twice of him having a lamia friend if he was also a lamia, but when a lamia gets too close to his non-lamia self she can’t help but get all huffy and doing the angry tail-swishing XD

I would think that Kalianne has enough self-control not to bite someone out of rage as she seems to have a sweet enough personality. She’s at least a lamia that just wants love.

No, she venomous. Poisonous means she’ll kill you if you bite her. Venemous means she’ll kill you if she bites you.
Fortunately, Badum has said that venomous lamias are taught self control from a young age, so that they don’t lash out in a fit of rage and kill someone.
He may not have said exactly that, and I don’t recall where or when he said that, but I definitely recall him saying something along those lines at some prior point in time.
