Nickname: Dove, Lovey-Dovey (by Pinkie, who wanted this to be her name originally), Sissy (by Cashew Cake and Cherry Chip)

Age: 17

Body/Appearance:
Dove is short and stout. Though she may look cute and harmless, she’s actually pretty strong and sturdy, so don’t annoy her. Her hair is always curly, though when she’s in a bad mood, it does appear considerably less voluminous. She typically has a braid in her mane and one in her tail, and enjoys braiding other ponies’ hair as well. (She usually braids Oasis’s hair whenever they’re hanging out.)

Personality:
Ever since she was a young foal, it was clear that Dovetail has the mind of an engineer. She would build elaborate castles and fix any toys that were broken. One can see that she is very observant and that her brain is always active, thinking of how things work. She’s typically quiet, but pleasant, and will agree to help any pony that she can. She is also an expert at planning, so she helps her parents, but doesn’t really partake in any partying herself. She discovered when she was younger that sugar makes her too excited and unpredictable, so she rarely eats any sweets, to the disappointment (but sad understanding) of Pinkie. Dove also hates surprises. No surprise parties. Ever. Dove also has a really dirty and sometimes dark sense of humor, but one has to spend a lot of time around her to actually hear her make a joke, as it is a rare occasion.

Relationships:
Dovetail sometimes feels like she is the adult in the family, as she is sometimes more mature than her parents are. Despite her inability to relate to most of their antics, her parents are very loving and caring to her and her siblings and are very proud of Dove’s accomplishments. If she’s ever feeling down, Dove knows that her parents will always be able to make her feel better.
Dovetail also feels like her job description would include “colt wrangler,” as she often has to watch over her three younger brothers. Sandstone isn’t too bad, but when he gets himself in a jam, it’s usually something bizarre. Cashew Cake and Cherry Chip are just crazy balls of energy, and Dovetail sometimes has to go into “scary sissy” mode (as they call it) to get them to calm down. She loves her little bros and they love her but sometimes they’re a lot to handle.
Dove’s friends are somewhat dependent on her to help them whenever they have trouble with their lives, so she’s very close with all of them, as each of them typically goes to her first with their issues. She’s especially dear to Kite, as without her, he wouldn’t be able to fly. He doesn’t realize how much she cares about him (and all the times she’s kept him out of trouble without him realizing.) Pinkie can tell that her daughter has feelings for Kite, but knows Dove must realize so herself and doesn’t push her to talk about it.

Talents/Abilities/Cutie Marks:
Dove’s talent is fixing nearly anything and solving problems. She’s great at completing puzzles and creating things (she made the watch that she often wears.) She was the second of her friends to receive her cutie mark (which is a dovetail joint), but she didn’t realize just how significant her abilities were until Kite’s accident. Creating him a new, functional wing was the hardest thing she had ever done, so succeeding in doing so earned her great respect from many ponies, the eternal gratefulness of Kite, and more confidence in herself.
