Description
Nickel Whooves needed an upgrade because his character’s changing a little bit:
-chaotic good, introvert
-super relaxed boy that has a chaotic streak when fire gets involved
-likes to go camping on his own and is an excellent chemist (most of the time? i mean, maybe he likes it when things explode in his face).
-Occasional mad-scientist vibe
-big doofy glasses he got from his grandma
-kind of feral, and doesn’t really gaf about what others think of him. Totally has achieved inner peace.
-Kinda clumsy, forgetful, easily distracted and definitely has trouble controlling his eyes at times
And Clarabelle:
-lawful good/neutral, introvert
-almost total opposite to Niko
-outwardly a meek bab
-inwardly super judgmental, influenced by her years in Canterlot and her “close” relationship with pop star Marshmallow Kiss. These two kind of hate each others.
-like most hybrids, she feels insecure about being a hybrid*
-has a pet quetzalcoatl named Cunegonde, after the female love interest in Clarabelle’s favorite satirical novel (Unless I’m remembering incorrectly, this was Lady-Limule’s idea! Check out her adorable art:
>>2278690)
-very well read; likes Nieghtzsche, so has a pretty pessimistic worldview
-tries too hard to prove herself, and admires Twilight Sparkle a lot
-has a crush on Indigo Sky
-loves her adoptive mother Sweetie Belle, but has a complicated relationship with her biological parents
*(quick note: hybrids are not entirely new, but they are definitely becoming more common as the different creatures of Equestria intermix peacefully. Despite things being mostly peaceful, there is a definite stigma against hybrids from all sides. I found myself morbidly fascinated by Rarity’s line in Zecora’s horrible debut episode, “And those STRIPES! So garish!” It really reflects a darker undertone of racism that develops into something more blatant and systematic in pony society as the show goes on. I can definitely see dragon x pony, griffin x pony, hippogriff x pony, etc relationships being seen in a negative light. The offspring from these relationships are ridiculed or otherwise seen as lesser, have specific derogatory names, and…mm yeah, let’s just say hybrids are not entirely welcome yet. So, Clarabelle, coming from a culture that is snobby even towards its own kind, is definitely pretty unhappy with what she is. But that’s a story for later.)
I’m gonna be updating everyone with new ref sheets because those other ones are getting a little old, and not very fun to look at.
