I don’t equate black people owning black slaves to be racism against black people because it’s a loaded question and “But, but, but, but black people did it too!” A.) isn’t anywhere near as relevant to the point as you want it to be and B.) doesn’t make it okay! Had it been Zecora selling other Zebras off, different story, but that’s not what’s happening. It’s Applejack presented as a wealthy plantation and slave owner lording over what are clearly enslaved zebras which, again, are the MLP allegory for black people. That sort of slave owner was not a thing outside the United States, and wasn’t a thing in the United States until long after the rest of the civilized world decided that slavery was a cruel, antiquated, and inhumane practice so they stopped doing it. But the American South wanted to keep doing it, so much to the point that they wanted to split away from the Union and specifically wrote a law stating clear as day that black people were inferior to white people.
 
As for how I define racism and where I’m coming from, I shouldn’t have to explain that (or literally anything else pertaining to this topic) to someone as intellectually enlightened as you present yourself to be anymore than I should explain why water is wet, but if it will make you drop the whataboutism like a hot rock then fine. I define racism as any prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism toward directed against people of different races under the belief that one specific race (white people, because it’s always white people who do this shit) is superior genetically, socially, or otherwise.

And my point is that an edit of a racist image is still a racist image. Taking a scene from “Duck Season, Rabbit Season” and putting a big fat Swastika on it may not have any further connection to the Holocaust, the Nazis, Hitler, or World War II, but it doesn’t make the Swastika itself any less of a symbol of hatred and bigotry.

Actually, we were talking about whether an edit of an image with allegedly racist undertones that doesn’t keep any the details pertaining to the aforementioned undertones is nonetheless racist in itself, to begin with, and my answer to that would be: “no, and that whole fucking pointless discussion shouldn’t have been held here in the first place”.

Because we aren’t talking about slavery around the world, and you bringing it up distracts from the point. We’re talking about slavery in America which, by the time big plantations were a thing in the US as is depicted in the picture the tag belongs to, absolutely was motivated by racism. That’s what the Civil War was about. “Oh no, it was about state rights,” yeah, state rights to do what? To keep slaves. I grew up in Ala-fucking-bama. I know first hand that the ‘states rights’ thing is pure bullshit.
