Actually, Twilight used Trixie’s own methods to humiliate and discredit her.  
And the Elements themselves are the single most powerful source of magic in existance. Why don’t they use them more often?

@Mayojar77 I think you have misinterpreted these episodes. In mare-do-well, I can see where your coming from as they could have just confronted rainbow dash, but this was all of the ponies, not just twilight. Rainbow dash was being a little arrogant don’t you agree?  
Trixie had been warned in an earlier episode and was actually being cruel instead of just a show off, so it’s understandable that twilight would want to stop her, as she was making everyponies life a misery.  
The elements seem like a bit of an easy way out, I think getting your friends to help is more suitable and was the friendship lesson. You have to remember you are not part of the target audience.  
I just think you need to back up your points a little better instead of arguing that’s all :3 love and tolerance!

since Season 2. If anyone acts out of her perceived moral line, she pretty much defames and humiliates them. This happened to Rainbow Dash , her friend, during the mysterious Mare-do-well, and to Trixie in Magic Duel. In both episodes, she tried her hardest to be a massive cunt, and got praised for it. When Zecora mentioned the ‘magic of the six’, she was most probably referring to the elements of harmony, which could have solved the whole problem then and there, but instead, she got the whole town to take part in an elaborate ruse for the sole purpose of making Trixie mad and jealous.

No, it just seems that she’s slowly becoming a pony version of Jyggalag. She adamantly believes that all chaos is evil, and will go out of her way to remove or otherwise destroy anything remotely chaotic.
