Are the animators trying to troll us into thinking that they are actually dating even after Hearts and Hooves Day?

Yeah, it’s quite possible they’re just friends, it’s just that they were in love at one time (even though it was forced) so that adds more fuel to the fire than just a standard friendship that’s never shown romantic elements before, like with Rarijack.
 
Though, either way, I’m kind of neutral on it. It’d be cool to see a canon relationship actually develop rather than them just having ponies that were already together (Like the Cakes or Shining and Cadence) but I’m fine with just friends. And yes, it’s annoying dealing with those type of shippers.

Well…you are kinda going from CMC incident > friends > relationship. The first bridge is understandable, second one not so much. It’s the same logic course with a lot of other ships, e.g. RariJack, sleepover incident > friends > relationship. Just because it’s hinted, doesn’t make it canon. Thus, when people start going around saying “CheeriMac Confirmed”, it gets on other people’s nerves, because it’s not confirmed, you only got more shipping fuel for your particular ship.

The reason why this gets more attention is because it’s after Cheerilee and Big Mac played an important role in an episode where the CMC were doing their damnedest to get them together. So, we go from that to see that they’re still hanging out. No, it’s doesn’t make it guaranteed canon, but this is some pretty big hinting that you don’t see when ponies randomly cross each other’s paths. Hell, it’s like everyone forgot about the Hearts and Hooves Day episode and are only looking at this as a single incident.

just be the same scene is enough for the insane shippers, but that time they didn’t, considering how rabid and insane are some of the Fluttermac shippers i find it very odd.
