When her power was sealed away within the six stars, it also included her own immortality. When Spike devoured the stars and Cosmos unfused, all of her power was taken away from her. Discord just showed her the simple truth: Fluttershy may be Mortal, but she has already came to terms with the fact that she is going to die someday… Cosmos is only just now feeling the weight of her own newly annointed Mortality… and it shall terrify her.
 
I wonder if she has ever heard of SCP-2718: “What Comes After…”?
