Smolder: Wut you just say boy?
Edited
Huey Dewey and Louie from Ducktales are another example of siblings sharing the same room as well
Yup, Dipper and Mabel anyone?
(Even if they are twins, it’s the same)
(Even if Pinecest is a thing. Shivers)
They sold the adult version of him as a separate toy.
Has Spike ever been sold individually as a stand alone toy? I seem to only recall him as a accessory toy sold with Twilight.
He could have had his own bedroom to avoid that weirdness of a young boy and girl sharing a room together. @Background Pony Number 17
I’d say it comes out to how the families structure is, there’s been many families that put two kids, like say a 5 year old boy and a 7 year old girl sharing the same room, I think it’s easier to pull off when the kids grow up sharing together more often as opposed to always separate.
It would be more of a mandatory separate bedroom issue once they hit puberty.
Well, I mean, bunk beds are a thing, so kids probably wouldn’t be too off-put by two siblings sharing a room, even if they are different sexes.
If they were sleeping in the same BED, that’d be an issue.

Remember the target audience for the show. Girls that age would NOT like sharing their bedrooms with their baby brothers. So, the only way Spike can share sleeping quarters with Twilight is if he’s portrayed as her pet.
The fact that dragons are dogs in Equestria Girls is racist. C’mon, Spike isn’t a pet to Twilight. He’s her adoptive son. This was almost a deal breaker to me when the first movie landed… And I really dislike Spike.
If anything they could have had one film where he went as a boy to experiment with the idea in the same fashion that twilight did with the portal. Could have been fun.
If it makes you feel better, I wrote a fanfic about this.
I’d name mine after a Fire Djinn. :3
Now I know a name to give to my dog.Edited
But he would be a little boy, i.e. prepubescent. Twilight would be 16? and spike would be like 8? Not even old enough to pop a wheelie :P. I don’t see what would be so awkward about them sharing a room. In fact, the writers made it even more awkward when Dog Spike was still head over heels with Rarity. Bestiality anyone? Lmao
