It was suggested to me to write about some ship headcanons I had and the first couple I wanted to work on was Moondancer and Sunburst. Here are my notes for them:After running out of books in her Canterlot observatory home (which previously belonged to Twilight), Moondancer traveled to the Crystal Empire to visit the palace library and take some books out on loan. Twilight Sparkle accompanied her and gave her friend a tour of the castle grounds and library before calling it an early night. However, once she was so close to new books, Moondancer could hardly fall asleep. After tossing and turning for what seemed like hours, she made her way to the library. Moondancer ended up finding someone else in the library while she shuffled through the large collection of books, but she decided to leave him alone and pretend she didn’t notice he was there. The two read quietly all night, occasionally glancing to one another as they flipped the pages of their books. They kept at it all night, not stopping their studies until the sun rose. Only then did Sunburst start to chat with Moondancer, commenting on the stack of tomes that she had chosen to read. The two began to talk about their favorite books and their recommendations for each other.Moondancer had actually already heard a lot about Sunburst, who she knew had gotten into Celestia’s school at a very young age but then flunked out and seemed to disappear. She vaguely remembered seeing him in the halls of the School for Gifted Unicorns, looking frumpy and disheveled while carrying loads of books (and usually dropping them). Moondancer quickly learned that Sunburst was now the Royal Crystaller and Advisor to the Crystal Kingdom and where Sunburst learned that Moondancer was a friend of Twilight’s and looking for new things to read. He agreed to regularly send her books from the Crystal Library since she was looking to expand her book list. The two became penpals, discussing their reading and magic. Moondancer would come to see Sunburst every so often to return piles of books and chat. After awhile of back and forth visits and realizing the two had nearly enough in common to be the same pony, Sunburst asked Moondancer if he could be her special somepony. They began dating and managed long-distance fairly well, except for the occasional months when the two were too busy with their separate lives to visit. Sunburst made her realize there was more to life than her books and Moondancer taught him that a unicorn is more than his magic. The two seemed to socially blossom more from the confidence they gave each other, but they still greatly enjoyed a night in with just each other as their only company. A good few years of dating passed and a year of living together before the two decided to have a small wedding with their closest friends and the royal families in the Crystal Empire. It wasn’t long after that that their first child, Starfire, was born. This led to reading a whole new genre of books obsessively, making sure they were prepared for the adventure of childhood, but with most of their friends already either expecting or having children of their own, they knew everything would be fine.%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%~
Sorry if that all seems jumbled and runs on forever! My imagination kinda went crazy with these two
